Who we are

The International Cancer Foundation’s (ICF) mission to “bridge the global divide in cancer care” is guided by a Board of Directors made up of top international oncologists. These experts have decades of clinical experience and groundbreaking research in their commitment to improving cancer care worldwide. Their combined knowledge and insights guide the Foundation’s strategic direction and decisions, ensuring that support is provided to healthcare professionals, organizations, and projects focused on cancer health equity. By developing partnerships and relationships, we ensure that the activities we support reduce the burden of cancer care for vulnerable communities around the world.

The ICF, founded by ESMO

ESMO, the European Society for Medical Oncology, founded in 1975, is a globally recognized leader in the field of oncology.
ESMO’s commitment to advancing knowledge and expertise in cancer research and professional training spurred a desire to share these resources and bridge the gap in cancer care for underserved communities, particularly in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
This ultimately led to the establishment of the International Cancer Foundation (ICF) in 2021.

Our Focus

Our focus is on advancing comprehensive cancer care, from prevention and diagnosis to treatment, follow-up and palliative care, for low- and middle-income countries and populations.

We do this by empowering and collaborating with local communities, caregivers, organizations, non-profits, governments and academia.
